Massage and relaxation places in Xiamen offer back massage and foot wash with varying degrees of proficiency in each. In the case of Xideshua, I tried a back massage and found it much better than my mainstay, Laofangzi. As a consequence, if I'll probably stick to Laofangzi for footwash and Xideshua for back massage.

Xideshua is a bit rundown in comparison to the nicer massage places like the new Laofangzi on Hexiangxi or Fuqiao next to Lundu, but what they lack in atmosphere is made up for in expertise in massage. This place is probably good for locals but if you want to impress any out-of-towners, you'll want to take them to a nicer place instead.

My other complaint is that I really like the privacy and quietness of having enclosed private rooms rather than the unsealed stalls that they have here.
