双喜蛋糕咖啡

[中文点评在下面] I visited this pastry place at Dongfang Mingzhu Square with a friend last weekend. I’ve passed by it quite a few times and I saw a couple of user recommendations here on the web site so I thought I’d check it out. From outward appearances, it looks quite nice with a large display case full of wonderful looking Western-style pastries and cakes. However, since we hadn’t eaten dinner yet, we decided to forego these treats and order some more normal dinner cuisine instead: sausage pizza (as recommended by a Xiaban user) and chicken pot pie (my meal of choice when I was a kid). The service people there are particularly helpful – there wasn’t much business so I had an opportunity to talk to them about what they recommended to order and learned that they occaisionally like to surf Xiaban.com for their own recommendations : ). We headed to the second floor where I was disheartened to find that it was no where as nicely decorated as the first floor. In fact, the style is quite cramped and plain compared to the more nouveau and fashionable styles of lots of newly opened places in Xiamen. I would reccommend a complete renovation of the second floor – get rid of the 70’s style carpeting and add some lighting and make it feel more spacious! The pizza unfortunately wasn’t so good either – a bit undercooked and the bread wasn’t very tasty. On the otherhand, the chicken pot pie was delicious and I definitely plan to order it again if I return. 

Recently, Dongfang Mingzhu Square has really become a great place to shop with lots of great shops (TD Records, Adidas, etc...) newly opening up. If you’re over thre shopping, this pastry shop is a good choice for a rest stop. 

我上个星期跟朋友去这新开馅饼皮店在东方明珠广场楼下. 最近看到几个推荐的点评而且这家在我的家的附近. 我跟朋友走路过去试试看.外面看出来不错 – 前面有很多西方的馅饼皮和蛋糕都看出来好吃. 可是因为我们还没吃饭所以我点了下面一个用户推荐的pizza. 我也点了鸡肉pie (chicken pot pie) 因为我小的时候经常吃了. 那边的服务员都很好... 帮我们选者吃的东西也说有时候也喜欢上下班网 : ). 我们坐在二楼 – 可是二楼的装修有一点平常. 我觉得最近很多的厦门的新开店有更漂亮的装修. 可能更多人比较喜欢在外面坐. pizza我觉得慢慢呼呼... 一分太小也面包有一点煮得欠熟. 鸡肉pie 比较好吃. 我下次很可能要再点因为味道提醒我小的时候的chicken pot pie. 我们以后吃饱了所以没有机会试甜点. 最近东方明珠广场有很多新开的不错的商店所以如果你先逛街你可以在这家休息.
