[中文点评在下面] Last week I invited a couple of co-workers and Xiaban.com Super Members to a special Wednesday night event at “My Living Room” wine bar. I’ve been to this place twice before, but because they were going to be presenting some California wines, I thought it’d be alot of fun to bring some friends along for this event. I’m no wine expert, but since I live next to California’s Napa Valley vineyards when I’m in the U.S., I’m a bit more familiar with the wines they were offering that night.

My favorite wine is a smooth Cabernet but unfortunately they didn’t have any available when I arrived. Instead, I tried a pretty good Pinor Noir. They also had a Chinese-made muscat which I’m sorry to say had a pretty bad, smoky aftertaste. A muscat is usually a good, fruity dessert wine, but this particular muscat was not sweet or fruity at all. Everyone’s favorite was the Beringer White Zinfandel. In the U.S., this is also an extremely popular wine and I think that if you’re not familiar with wines, this is a safe wine for you to begin with. My personal favorite wines are Johannisberg Riesling (sweet white wine) and the Cabernet (smooth, rich red wine).

When we arrived to the event, the boss and the manager were very warm in greeting us. They are both Xiaban.com members so they really enjoy surfing the web site and were glad to meet the other Xiaban.com members who came along. They gave us a special discount: usually the event is 80 RMB, but we all got to drink for 50 RMB. The event had about 30-40 people throughout the night so it was just the right number for chatting and meeting other people interested in tasting wine. The event was also accompanied by a man playing the keyboards and plenty of food. We all had a great time.

我上个星期跟几个同事和下班网super会员一起参加这家的品酒活动.因为我是加州人而且这个活动提供很多加州的葡萄酒所以我问很多朋友跟我一起去. 我不是红酒专门的人,可是因为我在加州的葡萄酒酿造厂附近所以我认识一点的葡萄酒.

我自己最喜欢的红酒是cabernet可是我到的时候已经没有了所以最好是一个 pinot noir也觉得不错的味道. 我也试了一个中国做的muscat 因为这个酒特别甜可是这个中国做的口味太奇怪 --  回味有太多烟的味道. 在美国很多我的朋友特别喜欢Beringer White Zinfandel因为很甜也凉爽的味道. 这里的朋友也试试了也觉得是她们最喜欢的所以我也推荐如果你不习惯和葡萄酒应该试Beringer White Zinfandel. 夏天这个White Zinfandel 非常好喝. 我自己也喜欢喝Johannisberg Riesling (甜,白)和 Cabernet (平滑,不太酸的红酒).

我们参加这个活动老板和副经理很热情欢迎我们. 因为我们有8个人参加所以给我们打折 – 普通价格是80元可以我们八个人付了50元/人. 活动有~30个人也有一个人给钢琴表演. 因为可以试试很多酒也吃东西所以我觉得价格非常好. 我们都玩的, 喝了很开心,以后跟老板牌照了.
