格兰凯(Grand Kitchen)西餐厅

[中文点评在后面] After seeing a review on Xiaban.com about this restaurant, I was curious to try it out. I've seen it passing by many times but wasn't sure whether it was good or not and it rarely had many patrons inside. The restaurant is very large and features western-style cuisine. Large, red leather booths in the brightly lit first floor makes this place feel like a very fancy American diner. The second floor features a large kitchen and additional seats. We ordered a spanish egg omelet and rice along with lamb chops (we wanted the duck, but they were already out of stock!). The lamb chops were especially tasty but the spanish omelet was a bit tasteless. Additionally, they have a help-yourself salad bar that oddly lacked lettuce. Instead it featured egg salad, pasta salad, and fruit salad. Not very good... On the other hand, the price was pretty decent compared to other Western restaurants (30-60 RMB per meal)

The restaurant was pretty empty when we came -- only two other couples in a huge restaurant. I think this place could make some minor changes to improve business. First, the service was very very good (excluding the missing duck) and the restaurant seems spacious and well-decorated, but it seems more like a diner than a romantic restaurant. I would recommend providing a more romantic atmosphere by adding color, filling the space (it seems TOO open, especially without customers), making booths more private, and reducing the lighting for a more cozy feel.

我看了爱生活~爱下班在下班网推荐这个餐馆所以我以后去试一下.我以前看到了很多次,觉得装修了好漂亮可是都没有顾客.这家特别大也有西方菜.我们点了煎蛋饭和羊肉 -- 我们先点了鸭肉可是他们已经被用完了.羊肉很好吃,可是煎蛋饭有一点没有味道.色拉也不是很大.价格比其它的西方餐馆不错 -- 一个套餐30-60元.

我觉得环境不错,可是太亮也觉得太大 -- 如果暗一点也用蜡烛应该比较浪漫的.
